Audubon inspired me again to look more closely at my carbon-footprint. In this month's magazine, there is this article, which got me all fired up about getting a second vehicle that I could turn to an alternative fuel source. I was stoked by what this article had to say and by the fact that they made it seem so feasible. Well... stupid me, I've know all along that going green was never going to be easy, and certainly never economical. It's SO counter-intuitive, but it is all fuelled by the big "E" and corporate lobbyists and at the most fundamental level, by those who have all the dineros. And, "those" are most definitely not "me's".
Nevertheless, besides knowledge, my excursion into alternative fuel via Audubon did lead me to this blog which I hope you all will visit.

...and another one drops to the nebulous Global Warming... erm... Climate Change... "Carbon Footprint" hooey!
i beg to rebut... i am not bending to global carbon hooey, but merely to a quickening for a more enviro-sensitive lifestyle that harkens back to our nature-neutral origins. in tune does not equate to global-bandwagonning.
Nature neutral?
No such thing, IMHO. A system can not be objectively observed from the inside. What one or we do cannot be measured as good/bad/neutral since we don't know what the natural progression of things is.
The past does not equal the future.
there is no doubt that ol' Earth will carry on well after we have left our carbon-y, tacky footprints all over her and are far gone to our next existence. however, for my own conscience and from a standpoint of oneness, my intention/desire is to be as in-balance as possible.
i can't nearly address all the issues that i find inherent in this subject in a "comment" - this is one of those discussions best hashed over wine, food, and cigars. suffice it to say that my wish is to be as complementary to my environs as i can.
but how do you determine objectively what 'complimentary' is to said environment? In-balance with what? What's the measuring stick?
Or not...we can move on if you'd prefer.
So, about that wine and cigar...what sort of food were you thinking? (If you say vegan or organic, I'm leaving and never coming back)
on a more esoteric level, i think we all have an innate sense of what is balanced and what is usury - so i don't think there is an objective "measuring stick". it is subjective yet universally implicit.
as for cuisine, meat with plenty of dairy products, a good yeast or sourdough bread, and of course some good green veggies, and perhaps some kind of yummy dessert that does NOT have chocolate (blech!!) in it. does that suit, oh contrary one??
*winkle*
